The Houppelande wardrobe is a spacious, open wardrobe system in an industrial design, distinguished by its clean lines and robust construction. Measuring 271 cm wide, 40 cm deep, and with an adjustable height, it offers ample storage for clothing, accessories, and shoes. Two clothes rails with a total length of 160 cm and several shelves measuring 92 x 40 cm ensure organized storage. Thanks to the height of the clothes rails, the unit is also perfectly suited for longer garments such as dresses, coats, or suits, which can be hung without wrinkling.
The houppelande owes its name to a medieval garment worn throughout Europe. With its characteristic folds and stately appearance, it symbolized space, elegance, and visibility – qualities that also lend this piece of furniture its distinctive character.
Made from solid anthracite malleable iron fittings (¾ inch) and sturdy, corrosion-resistant 26.9 mm diameter pipes, this industrial wardrobe is as durable as it is stylish. The pipes are available in three finishes: untreated for an authentic industrial look, silver with a smooth surface for a modern loft feel, or anthracite with a textured finish that harmonizes perfectly with the fittings.
Three types of wood are available for the shelves, each with its own unique character. Pine adds a natural touch with its warm grain, beech plywood offers stability and a light, even surface, while bamboo impresses with its striking texture and exceptional hardness. This allows the open wardrobe to be individually tailored to suit any personal interior design style.
Included in the delivery is a complete assembly kit with dowels, screws and a bit, as well as easy-to-understand assembly instructions. The Houppelande wardrobe is therefore quick to assemble and versatile in its use: as an open walk-in wardrobe, as a functional clothing system with shelves and clothes rails, or as a striking room divider that structures the room while maintaining an open feel.
